A life-long artist, I have enjoyed pursuing my passion for drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. In high school, I discovered watercolor, oils and scratchboard and won many student art awards which encouraged me to pursue a career in art. I attended the Colorado Institute of Art located in Denver, Colorado and studied Advertising Design, graduating in 1979.
For the next ten years, I worked full-time as a graphic artist in the San Francisco bay area before moving to the Pacific Northwest and "retiring" from the graphic arts field. Returning to my love of drawing and painting, I worked out of my home as a freelance portrait artist and illustrator while raising my two children. More recently, I earned my diploma from the Society of Botanical Artists (SBA) in their Distance Learning Program.
As a little girl, I was fascinated with houses, making up and drawing floor plans of dream homes. I would spend hours constructing buildings with my "Super City" building set. My love of drawing and painting and interest in houses, particularly old homes with lots of charm have been the perfect match for my home portrait business. A detail oriented person, I enjoy illustrating pen and ink custom house portraits for the real estate industry as well as creating works of art in a variety of mediums and subject matter.
In addition to drawing and painting, I enjoy crafts of all kinds...anything involving color, patterns and textures is my passion. I love working out in my garden, rainy days, drinking tea, knitting, quilting and walking my dog, Zoe. My husband and I now have two grown children and two grandchildren and enjoy living in beautiful Issaquah, Washington.
